WELCOME TO ADULT CARE OF AUSTIN

Dr. Steven Dobberfuhl is an internal medicine physician. His clinic is located in South Austin, and he aims to provide comprehensive, personalized care with kindness, understanding, respect, and dignity.

He collaborates with Michael Petersen, PA-C, Lisa Bouillion, NP-C, and Jamie Jones, NP-C, to support your health and wellness.

Partnering with Mainstreet Health provides a Healthcare Navigator for Medicare Advantage patients of his practice. This new role will help patients access community resources such as affordable medications, transportation, and support services.

Adult Care of Austin continues to collaborate with Alliance ACO (which will include Aledade in 2025) to provide quality, value-based care to our traditional Medicare patients.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

VACCINES

  • COVID-19 VACCINE:  - As of 9/2024, we recommend getting the updated vaccine. This targets the newest variants. COVID-19 infections have been worse in the summer of 2024 compared to 6 and 12 months ago, with more severe symptoms and increased hospitalizations. Keeping up with your vaccination helps to prevent severe disease, hospitalizations, and long-haul symptoms.

Paxlovid remains effective in reducing symptoms and long-haul COVID-19.

  • As of September 2024, the COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for everyone six years and older.

  • Adult Care of Austin does not administer COVID-19 vaccines but encourages you to get vaccinated at your pharmacy.

  • We encourage patients to get an ANNUAL FLU SHOT.

  • If you are 75+ years old or 60+ with heart or lung disease, we recommend an RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) vaccine. Arexvy and Abrysvo are both acceptable options.

  • We are happy to discuss vaccines and help you make your decision.

  • Dr. Dobberfuhl supports and encourages you to get vaccinated.
